Periods of Care: Short Term vs Long Term Care
SHORT TERM CARE : short term care are services given to an individual who needs care for a short period of time which maybe last up to six months.
Typically includes End stage or Hospice patients (Palliative care) ; Respite Care, Recovery from hospitalization or Surgery ; Companionship or Assistance to look after a loved when while family is away Or the Regular Nurse/Caregiver is on leave and so forth
LONG TERM CARE : will be from six months up and last up to year/s depending upon the family.Long term care patients typically are stroke patient , paralyzed and/ or Bedridden; Parkinsons; Dementia or Alzheimers , Immobile from Accidents and Injury or Permanent disability from chronic Medical Conditions and Diseases, and others..
